Day 06 - Kovalam - Trivandrum sightseeing - Kovalam

After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Trivandrum. Thiruvananthapuram, previously called Trivandrum, is an ancient city with tradition dating back to 1000 BC. This capital city of Kerala is a beautiful seaside metropolis built on seven hills. It is located on the west coast of India spreading over a total of 2,192 sq.km. Sightseeing tour is comprehensive with the visits to Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, Napier Museum, Kuthiramalika Palace and Zoo. Overnight stay is arranged in Kovalam. 

Day 07 - Kovalam to Trivandrum departure

Day 01 - Arrive at Cochin

Pick up from Cochin Airport / Ernakulam railway station and transfer to the hotel. On arrival check in to the hotel. Spend the afternoon with local sightseeing in and around Cochin. Cochin - the Queen of Arabian Sea, this is one of the finest natural harbors in the World and was one of the major centers for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, etc. Places to visit: Jewish Synagogue, also known as Pardesi Synagogue, is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. Open from 7 AM to 12 PM and from 3 PM to 5 PM, remains closed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Jewish holidays. Just outside the Jewish Synagogue is the famous Jew Town, where small shops and stalls are put up that sell Indian and Chinese antiques. Open from 5 AM to 9 PM. The St Francis Church, where the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gamas body was initially buried, is yet another significant tourist hotspot in Kochi well known for its beautiful architecture and ambience; it is one of the oldest churches built by the Europeans. The church is open to visitors from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Dutch palace, which is also known as Mattanchery Palace, though built by the Portuguese, it is a perfect example of Kerala style architecture. Open 10 AM to 5 PM. Santa Cruz Basilica is one of the finest and most impressive basilicas in Kerala. Built and named after the Portuguese Santa Cruz, the church is open to visitors from 8 AM to 6:30 PM. Also get the best view of the Chinese Fishing Nets from the Vasco da Gama Square. Overnight stay is arranged in Cochin. 

Day 02 - Cochin to Munnar

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Munnar (04 hours’ drive). Munnar, situated 1600 Meter above sea level at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. On the way enjoy some waterfalls and natural scenic spots. On arrival at Munnar check into hotel. The Tea Museum displays the history and evolution of the tea plantations in Munnar. The museum is open to tourists till 5 PM. If you are a flora lover, pay a visit to the Floriculture Centre Munnar. Commonly known as Rose Garden, it has over hundred varieties of flowers and herbal plants. Open from 10 am to 5 PM. Overnight stay at the hotel will be arranged in Munnar. 

Day 03 - Munnar sightseeing

After breakfast spend the day for local sightseeing of Munnar. Places to visit The Eravikulam National Park in Munnar is one of the five national parks in Kerala, with rich flora and fauna, which is home to the famous Nilgiri Thar. The park closes at 4 pm. The Mattupetty Dam / Lake is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Munnar, surrounded by lush green forest. Open from 9:30 am till 5 pm. You may also engage in boating and horse rides [depend on availability]. The Kundala Lake / Dam is one of the most picturesque locations in Munnar. It requires no entry fees and visitors are allowed till 5pm. Visit the Photo Point and Echo Point with no entry charges. Overnight stay is arranged at Munnar. 

Day 04 - Munnar to Thekkady (Periyar)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (3 hours’ drive), on arrival check in to the hotel. Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Thekkady. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 is one of the world's most fascinating wildlife reserves stretching to a total of 777sq km of which 360 km is thick ever green forest. Allows visitors from 6 am to 6 pm. Boating at the Periyar lake is an activity much sought by tourists who visit Thekkady because wild animals can be spotted during the session. Online booking is recommended to avoid queues. Jeep safari is a fun optional activity to enjoy if you have an adventurous bone.  Visit the Spice Plantation in Thekkady, stroll around the captivating farm and discover various spices in different sections of the plantation. If time permits witness the amazing work of art of Kathakali, one of the major classical dance forms of Kerala. Also get captivated by the ancient form of martial arts practiced in Kerala, the Kalarippayattu, which is said to be the oldest and most scientific martial arts in the world. Most sought Elephant Ride around the wilderness. Overnight stay is arranged in Thekkady. 

Day 05 - Thekkady to Alleppey (Alappuzha)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey (4 hours' drive). Set out on an enchanting overnight backwater cruise in traditionally decorated houseboat. Check in time is 01:00 PM and cruise starts with lunch. While cruising in these floating luxury-villas, let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual - skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed-down paddy fields, and local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, and ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Food will be served on board. Overnight stay in the houseboat at Alleppey. 

Day 06 - Alleppey to Kovalam

After breakfast, check out from the houseboat (check out time 9 AM) and drive to Kovalam (4 hours' drive). On arrival at Kovalam check-in into hotel. Kovalam is one of the prime beach destinations in India. The Kovalam beach is divided into three beaches, the Samudra beach, the Hawah beach and the Lighthouse beach. Also visit Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium not far away from Kovalam and unravel the mysteries of the marine sea. Open from 9 AM to 5 PM.
